The Battle Belongs to Jesus

October 30, 2016

Psalm 55
22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous be shaken.

belong: to be in the right place or a suitable place:
              to be the property of a person or thing
belong: is defined as being a member, to fit in or be suitable for.

(Provided by www.dictionary.com)

When trouble or problems arrive at your door it’s good to belong!

Problem is we haven’t let Jesus carry the load; He said it was His responsibility.

Proverbs 3

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

John 14
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me (Jesus).

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

As I search through scripture, I begin to see various patterns of teachings or sayings. These teachings and sayings are said in different ways and words but is clearly the same message.

So many times Jesus or the writers of the bible said over and over again, to ‘Trust God”, “Don’t lean on your understanding”, “believe in God”.

Matthew 6:25-27
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Here in Matthew are some of the greatest bible keys to understand and believing there are, verse says “are you not more valuable than flowers and birds." Problem is some of us don’t know the answer to this question, so were stuck on the question and can’t move on to the answer?

1 Peter 5
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

We are required to go through some stuff.

Psalm 50
14 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
    fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 and call on me in the day of trouble;
    I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

John 16:33
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We must pray and tell the Lord that we hear what He's saying in John 16:33, where Jesus says, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Lord to show how You have "overcome" our problems, our worries, our anger, our fears and our guilt.

2 Chronicles 20:15-17
15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel.

17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

The Battle doesn’t belong to the Lord until we stop fighting and cast our cares and fears upon Him and then stand and watch for His direction. This will take some practice but don’t give up until you have victory. This blessing will follow you all the days of your life.
