Have I Got A Deal For You
Have I Got A Deal For You
Everybody loves a good deal and the Devil is no exception. The Devil plays “let’s make a deal” every day with you, whether you know it or not.
Now that we are saved, what can the Devil do? He can’t talk us out of being saved; no one would listen to that, no one would go for that. So he is looking for a new angle into your life and he’s willing to make a deal.
1) He will try to just get you into so much trouble; you are destroyed and no longer any threat to him.
1 John 2:16
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world."
2) Ok, you’re too smart to fall for the old sins, so He wants to see if you’re willing to make a trade. His offer is whatever you want for your walk with God. The only thing that we actually have of value is our walk with God. That what we will or won’t be rewarded for at the end of our journey.
"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
3) Now if you have done your homework for God and have acquired some valuable skills. Like any of the gifts of the spirit or perhaps a position of authority, something of value that the Devil can use against God. Having not fallen for any of the previous attempts to pull you away from God, he may attempt to speak to you directly. As surprising as this might seem it not common but it’s also not big surprise ether.
1 Timothy 4:1
"But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons."
The Devil is here and his plan is to destroy God’s plan. Scripture says “he is come to kill, steal and destroy.” He thinks he can over through God’s plan and win the Earth for himself and his followers.
Now understand it’s not a matter of if but it is an absolute yes that the Devil will come knocking on your door. He will not come empty handed, no; he will come bring gifts and pretty words. Like a suitor, who comes in the spring, he will surely come a knocking on your door. With velvety words and the deal of a lifetime.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds."
He will have a new car, a new career, the perfect job but you will have to move to another city and away from the church you are planted in where you make a difference. Oh, surly this new opportunity is from God, a blessing for my ongoing obedience and faithful tithing. How about the best boyfriend/girlfriend I have ever had, they are so nice and good looking and they go to church also. It’s not quite like my church but I know they will come around.
We are so easily fooled by gifts to the flesh. The flesh is always selfish and it always wants its way. So unless you find a way to be content in your everyday life, you place yourself in a position to be manipulated by demons bearing gifts. Once you realize you have been fooled it’s a difficult road back.
Psalm 37 3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. 9 For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
23 The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; 24 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
Jesus our Lord and God, thank you for loving us and leading us in the way we should go. We ask for wisdom and understanding, that we would not be deceived or fooled by the works of darkness. We ask for a heart that hears your voice and believes your word, a heart that is tender to the needs of others and generous in love. Bless you for filling us with your righteousness and guiding our every step.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!
