“From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.”
Just as Judas had decided to turn Jesus over and waited and watched, everyone and everything is all about opportunities.
It is a game of timing:
•God waits on us
•The Devil waits on us
•We wait on everything. We’re always waiting on something or for something.
“For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.”
Sin is waiting for you to wear down so he can talk to you… into giving in one more time. Sin waiting patiently is called temptation; waiting for you to take your eyes off the prize.
Kingdom of God = blessings of God.
You won’t prosper if the Devil can get you to steal.
•I.E. A sales clerk giving you something for free that is out of his authority. If it doesn’t feel right do not accept it.
“The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”
Life is the opportunity to produce good Fruit through Jesus Christ; you have the opportunity to choose. If we follow Jesus and learn to practice His ways, we will produce good fruit and in abundance.
•Opportunities produce fruit and fruit produces opportunities.
•Good begets good. It will feed itself and multiply in like manner.
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Love one another and learn to be generous to each other.”
“When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.”
When the Devil could find no giving up in Jesus, he left Him to go and watch until he could find a crack to exploit. The beginning of the temptation process is one of slowly working into a position to influence. Then, to negatively influence and turn the desire of your heart. Working himself in like a skilled surgeon, Satan is waiting for and trying to create an opportunity to destroy something which is mainly you.
1 Peter 1:2
“Who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.”
You, who have been chosen by the Father Himself, have been chosen a long time ago to be brought into existence at this opportune time for God’s pleasure and purpose. Since your existence suits Gods purpose, (the devil exists for God’s pleasure), He has created opportunities for us to be a blessing and to be blessed. He had created the seasons of our lives.
If we learn to use our opportunities wisely we will produce much fruit.
This isn’t about what we do; it’s who we are.
