Love Your Life

August 13, 2017

Romans 8:6
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;

If you think on good things then your mind will produce good thinking.

We learn to think right; It is not in our old nature, but in our new one. Our nature that is given over to the Spirit of the Lord is one that is at peace with God and ourselves. This is why we sometimes think good stuff and sometimes not.

Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

[MSG] Hebrews 12:11
God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God’s training so we can truly live?

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Jesus told us in advance that our lives would have troubles and joy, but not to get to overwhelmed by ether one. The troubles of the flesh lead to the joy of the spirit. This process takes time and we are renewed as we go along one day at a time.

Ecclesiastes 4:8
There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth. "For whom am I toiling," he asked, "and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?" This too is meaningless— a miserable business!

You must have a reason to live, whether it is God or family or work or play;

There must be a motivation to live. It can take a while to find this, especially, if your plans and God’s don’t quite match. Fortunately God is flexible.

     •Clean out your own closet; Deal with your skeletons however you can. Ask God if there is anything else.
     •Help your family as they want help. Don’t push, but help them discover the joy of freedom. This will be seen in you. Your family will test you to see if it is real.
     •Keep turmoil out of your house. Stop it at the door. If anger comes to the door tell it to go away. Unless it’s your mother in law.

If you have trouble with any of these steps ask us for help.
