John 1: 1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Jesus not only made the world but He took responsibility for it and for us.
John 10: 7-18
17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
This universe is Jesus' responsibility; He made it and is King over it. The Father gave Jesus complete authority of the creation, running, and completion of the vision of the Father for the Earth and the universe.
1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
Romans 4: 24-25
It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
Jesus gave His life as a payment for our lives. These scriptures only give us a glimpse into the suffering of Jesus and the life He lived to come to this place. In fact, it says in scripture that if they had written all that He did, it would fill all the books in the world!
13 Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.
14 Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man,
And His form more than the sons of men;
Scripture teaches that Jesus was whipped for our healing, His blood was shed for our sins, and His resurrection sealed it. The resurrection was God notarizing the work of the cross, His seal of acceptance as payment for sins. The resurrection was the completion of the work of creation that Jesus made. The world we see now is the plan of God playing out to the return of Christ. We are the fruit of Jesus' work, the sons of God following His plan into eternity and beyond.
We honor Jesus extra today!
