Father's Day is Everyday
Today is the day we recognize the qualities of good men in America. Men that have laid down their lives for their God, their Families and Friends and also their Country. God bless good men everywhere, but let it be known that behind every good man is God. In (Matt. 19:17) Jesus explains.
Matthew 19:17 17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Our Father who is in Heaven, which means Holy or Sacred, is actually the One we are to look to as the originator of holiness and goodness, it all flows from the Father alone. We are told to not even call each other father because there is only one. (Matt. 23:8)
Matthew 23:9-12 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Our calling one another father or teacher is more likely a description of whom we are reflecting or aspire to point to. More important is what the Father says about us. Let us take a look into what part we play in the Fathers plan?
Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us?
1 John 4 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
John 14:6 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1 Peter 1:3 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
John 14:10 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
John 14:23 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
Jesus and The Father live inside us as part of the spirit within us. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and He dwells in us, guides us, and directs us. Our walk with God is learning to be led by His Spirit. At first, we think we hear from God but as we press in and give our lives to His plans little by little we do hear His voice leading us, and we believe.
