Dealing with the Valleys of Life

John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

From time to time there are difficulties and troubles we will face in our lives. Such a time as now and facing times of trouble is never easy or it wouldn’t be called trouble. This will test your faith and reveal to you what exactly you believe and what you believe in. Jesus had some things to say about such times like John 16:33.

“In the world you will have trouble” but “In Me you will have peace”: We are warned that there will be trouble and then Jesus comforts those who believe and trust in Him. This is where the prayer and reading of scripture and doing the right thing comes into play. This reflects the effort you have displayed to the actual following of Jesus. When you know you are in right standing with God you will feel more confident that God will actually stand with you in your time of trouble. God stands equally for all of His children but when you are in right standing your faith will shine. The confidence reflected by that faith is what we call peace.

Isaiah 41:10
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
These are powerful encouraging words when you are facing health issues or financial pressure or emotional issues that seem to be beyond our control. The world has to run to the government or a nonprofit organization maybe even hopefully a friend. Romans 10:12 says those who trust in God will not be put to shame or in other words abandoned.

Romans 10:11-12
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

This scripture refers to salvation but there are clearly other references intended which is that if you trust God He will indeed protect and care for you. Our issue is whether we will react in faith or fear. If you believe God will watch over you and your family then you will face trouble with a peaceful heart and if we don’t then there will be worry fear anxiety even dread. God saved you for a purpose and He promised you a good life, believe in that and not the fear of any present situation.

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus thank you for saving us for eternity and thanks for saving us every day also a day like today. We lean on You and release to you all our cares and worries we trust You with every ounce of our faith. Jesus strengthens us to carry us through this day and the next as well. He is indeed our redeemer. Amen
