1 Peter 1:15-16
15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

2 Corinthians 7  (NKJV)
7 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
So the point here is that we are to walk in holiness and be holy before God. So first off what is holiness before God?

Holiness [N] [T]
In the highest sense belongs to God ( Isaiah 6:3 ; Revelation 15:4 ), and to Christians as consecrated to God's service, and in so far as they are conformed in all things to the will of God ( Romans 6:19 Romans 6:22 ; Ephesians 1:4 ; Titus 1:8 ; 1 Peter 1:15 ). Personal holiness is a work of gradual development. It is carried on under many hindrances, hence the frequent admonitions to watchfulness, prayer, and perseverance ( 1 Corinthians 1:30 ; 2 co 7:1 ; Ephesians 4:23 Ephesians 4:24 ). (See SANCTIFICATION .)

Well knowing what it is and doing it are completely different challenges. The difficulty was in the fact that I had a life to live and that interfered with my relationship with God. Plus I was never really sure how I was doing and since it was so hard to track it was up and down all over the place. Sometimes I was on fire and God was everywhere and other times was He hiding in Hawaii it seemed?

Now before I tell you the answer the Holy Spirit gave me let me enlighten you that the battle is for our time both God and the Devil want control of our time. Take out your phone and hold it in your hand. We do this every day sometimes all day and give it no thought. Well the truth of this is that we are all enhanced humans and we were worried about robots taking over. We have become hopelessly connected to our hand held machines as we can’t even imagine not having our information device. Point is we have already accepted the beginning of joining ourselves with machines to function better. How far can we reach before we are no longer the sons of God? That is a sticky question that will have to be dealt with in a few years. Elon Musk of Tesla motors has a company that is presently working on a chip that will directly connect our brains with the internet. So then you won’t even need a phone.

Praying and meditating on this dilemma led to a revelation from the Holy Spirit. What the showed me was play blocks from when I was a kid. He asked can you spare 15 minutes tomorrow and I said yes for sure. Then He said well we will call that 1 block of uninterrupted time for God. Now the areas that fall into this time of separation for God are as follows. Prayer, Reading Scripture or God related book, Singing to the Lord or Talking to God. These segments of our day are blocks of time given to God that we set aside for the growth of our relationship with God. You can’t bring your phone with you because the devil is trying to stop you from connecting with God. This is the fight of your life it’s a battle for your time and your allegiance.

So every 15 min segment is 1 block and they are easy to keep track of on your calendar or whatever. Add up your blocks each week and you will see a significant change in your life and relationship with God. This keeps us on track and going in an orderly direction with visible results we can be encouraged by.
